Description

A comforting open-face tuna melt featuring creamy tuna, crunchy celery, savory onion, and gooey melted cheese on toasted bread.


Ingredients

  • 1 can Canned tuna
  • 2 tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup Chopped onion
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 4 slices Toasted bread
  • 1 cup Cheese (slices or shredded, such as cheddar)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven or broiler.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the canned tuna, mayonnaise, chopped celery, chopped onion, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place the toasted bread on a baking sheet.
  4. Spoon the tuna mixture onto each slice of bread.
  5. Top with cheese.
  6. Place under the broiler for a few minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve warm.

Notes

For added flavor, consider mixing in diced pickles or capers. A sprinkle of paprika can enhance the appearance and flavor.
