Ingredients

  • 1 pound (454 g) shrimp, de-veined, shelled, tail-on, thawed and patted dry (size 16-20)
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) coarse ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) fresh lemon juice (from 1/2 lemon)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) lemon zest (from 1 lemon)
  • Chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Coat the shrimp evenly with the salt and black pepper. Ensure all other components are prepared and within reach for when the shrimp are turned over.
  2. In a large frying pan, warm the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once the pan is sufficiently hot, arrange the shrimp in a single layer.

Continue cooking for an additional 1 to 2 minutes or until the shrimp are fully cooked. The cooking duration may vary based on the shrimp’s size. The shrimp should appear firm, pink, and slightly curled.
  4. Serve without delay, adding fresh parsley as a garnish.
