Description

A simple yet elegant whole baked salmon fillet, infused with garlic, lemon, and fresh herbs, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb whole salmon filet, skin on
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 large garlic cloves, pressed
  • 1 lemon, zest only
  • Coarse salt
  • Black pepper
  • 1 tbsp fresh minced dill weed
  • 1 tbsp fresh minced parsley
  • 2-3 tbsp capers, liquids drained

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Take the salmon fillet out of the package and pat it dry with a paper towel.
  3. Rub olive oil evenly on both sides of the salmon and place it skin side down on the baking sheet.
  4. Season the salmon with coarse salt and black pepper.
  5. Evenly rub pressed garlic over the salmon and spread the lemon zest on top.
  6. Bake the salmon for 18-22 minutes until it reaches an internal temperature of 145°F.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes.
  8. Sprinkle fresh minced dill and parsley on top and spread the capers over the salmon. Serve with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

Consider marinating the salmon for more flavor and always use fresh ingredients.
