Description

Discover how to create the ultimate Southern seafood boil with our step-by-step recipe guide. Learn the secrets to a flavorful and satisfying seafood feast!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds (907g) Seafood (2 pounds (907g) total of your preferred seafood)
  • 80ml Vegetable oil
  • 16 ounces (454g) beef sausage, cut into 1-inch rounds
  • 2 pounds (907g) red potatoes
  • 4 ears corn, cut in half
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 large lemon, cut into quarters

Instructions

  1. Fill a sizable stockpot with water. If your pot isn’t large enough, use two pots and split the ingredients evenly. Introduce the Old Bay seasoning, garlic, lemon wedges, and bay leaves to the water. Heat until it reaches a rolling boil.
  2. Introduce the red potatoes, sausage slices, and chopped onion into the pot. Bring the mixture back to a rolling boil. Let it simmer for 10-15 minutes or until the potatoes have softened.
  3. Stir in the seafood and corn pieces. Continue cooking for an additional 5-10 minutes or until the seafood is fully cooked.
  4. Pour the mixture through a strainer to remove the liquid. Present the meal on a newspaper spread or a serving dish.

Notes

  • Ensure to include a variety of seafood like shrimp, crab, and mussels for a flavorful boil.
  • Adjust the seasoning to your liking by adding more Old Bay or other spices for enhanced taste.
  • Before serving, squeeze the cooked lemon wedges over the seafood boil for a burst of citrus freshness.
