Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh tuna steaks
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 cucumber, diced
- 1 cup mixed greens
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- Cayenne pepper to taste (optional)
Instructions
- Pat the tuna steaks dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.
- In a medium bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard to make the creamy garlic sauce. Mix until smooth.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, then add the seasoned tuna steaks and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side for a medium-rare finish.
- While the tuna rests, toss the salad ingredients (cherry tomatoes, cucumber, mixed greens, and avocado) in a bowl with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Slice the rested tuna steaks and serve on a bed of salad, drizzling the creamy garlic sauce on top or serving it on the side.
Notes
Allow tuna to rest before slicing for optimal tenderness. Personalize the creamy garlic sauce with herbs for added flavor.
