Description

Delicious tuna steaks seared to perfection, served with a creamy garlic sauce and a refreshing salad. A simple yet impressive dish for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 fresh tuna steaks (about 6 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cups mixed salad greens (arugula, spinach, or baby kale)
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • ½ cucumber, sliced
  • ¼ red onion, thinly sliced
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (parsley or chives)

Instructions

  1. Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tuna steaks and sear for 2-3 minutes per side for medium-rare. Remove from heat and let rest.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add minced garlic, sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Pour in heavy cream, stirring well. Add Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. In a bowl, combine mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and red onion. Toss with dressing or drizzled olive oil and vinegar.
  6. Slice the tuna steaks against the grain and arrange on plates with the salad. Drizzle creamy garlic sauce over the tuna.
  7. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve immediately.

Notes

Consider marinating tuna steaks for added flavor. Use a digital meat thermometer to ensure proper doneness.
