Ingredients
- 2 fresh tuna steaks (about 6 oz each)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 2 cups mixed salad greens (arugula, spinach, or baby kale)
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- ½ cucumber, sliced
- ¼ red onion, thinly sliced
- Fresh herbs for garnish (parsley or chives)
Instructions
- Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tuna steaks and sear for 2-3 minutes per side for medium-rare. Remove from heat and let rest.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add minced garlic, sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream, stirring well. Add Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- In a bowl, combine mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and red onion. Toss with dressing or drizzled olive oil and vinegar.
- Slice the tuna steaks against the grain and arrange on plates with the salad. Drizzle creamy garlic sauce over the tuna.
- Garnish with fresh herbs and serve immediately.
