Description

A vibrant and flavorful marinade for grilling tuna steak, perfect for any night of the week.

Ingredients

  • ⅓ cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon coarsely cracked black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Juice of half a lemon (about 2 tablespoons)

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a mixing bowl: olive oil, honey, minced garlic, chopped cilantro, parsley, spices – salt, cumin, cracked black pepper, and smoked paprika, and lemon juice.
  2. Whisk the ingredients together until well blended.
  3. Place tuna steaks in a Ziploc bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are fully coated.
  4. Refrigerate for a minimum of 30 minutes, not exceeding 1 hour.
  5. Preheat grill or skillet to medium-high heat.
  6. Grill tuna steaks for about 6-8 minutes on each side, aiming for an internal temperature of 90 to 95°F for medium-rare.
  7. Allow the tuna to rest for about 5 minutes before slicing or serving whole.

Notes

Fresh herbs enhance flavor; do not skip the lemon juice for acidity. Allow tuna to rest after grilling for juiciness.
