Delicious and easy-to-make tuna melt patties that bring warmth and comfort to any meal.
Ingredients
- 2 cans (5 oz each) tuna, drained
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (or Swiss)
- 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped
- 1 tablespoon butter (for cooking)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, egg, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Add the shredded cheese and chopped green onions to the mixture and stir until well incorporated.
- Form the mixture into 4-5 compact patties.
- Heat the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Once melted and sizzling, add the patties to the pan.
- Cook each side for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
Notes
For added flavor, experiment with different cheeses or herbs. Chill patties before frying for better shape retention.
