Description

Delicious and easy-to-make tuna melt patties that bring warmth and comfort to any meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (5 oz each) tuna, drained
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (or Swiss)
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, egg, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  2. Add the shredded cheese and chopped green onions to the mixture and stir until well incorporated.
  3. Form the mixture into 4-5 compact patties.
  4. Heat the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Once melted and sizzling, add the patties to the pan.
  5. Cook each side for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

Notes

For added flavor, experiment with different cheeses or herbs. Chill patties before frying for better shape retention.
