Description

A classic Tuna Melt, combining creamy tuna, crunchy vegetables, and melting cheese on golden-brown toast.

Ingredients

  • 1 can of tuna, drained
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup diced celery
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • 2 slices of bread
  • 2 slices of Colby Jack cheese
  • Butter for grilling

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the drained tuna, mayonnaise, mustard, diced celery, and red onion until well combined.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  3. On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer half of the cheese, followed by the tuna mixture, and then the remaining cheese.
  4. Top with the second slice of bread, unbuttered side up.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat and grill the sandwich until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side, pressing down gently.
  6. Once the cheese is melted and the bread is toasted, remove from the skillet, slice in half, and serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider mixing herbs into your butter before spreading and use high-quality tuna.
