Description

A go-to seafood dish featuring tender tilapia fillets paired with a rich and creamy lemon sauce, perfect for dinner parties or weeknight meals.

Ingredients

  • 4 fillets tilapia
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 shallot, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 lemon, zest and juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Season the tilapia fillets evenly with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the tilapia fillets to the skillet and cook for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Transfer the cooked fillets to a plate.
  5. Reduce the heat to medium and melt the butter in the same skillet.
  6. Add the chopped shallot and sauté for 2–3 minutes until translucent.
  7. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  8. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring constantly.
  9. Whisk in the lemon zest and juice, and simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
  10. Return the cooked tilapia to the skillet and spoon the sauce over each fillet, warming for 1–2 minutes.
  11. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra richness, whisk in a touch of freshly grated Parmesan cheese into the cream sauce.
