Description
A go-to seafood dish featuring tender tilapia fillets paired with a rich and creamy lemon sauce, perfect for dinner parties or weeknight meals.
Ingredients
- 4 fillets tilapia
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 shallot, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 lemon, zest and juice
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Season the tilapia fillets evenly with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the tilapia fillets to the skillet and cook for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Transfer the cooked fillets to a plate.
- Reduce the heat to medium and melt the butter in the same skillet.
- Add the chopped shallot and sauté for 2–3 minutes until translucent.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring constantly.
- Whisk in the lemon zest and juice, and simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
- Return the cooked tilapia to the skillet and spoon the sauce over each fillet, warming for 1–2 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
For extra richness, whisk in a touch of freshly grated Parmesan cheese into the cream sauce.
