Description

Learn how to make delicious Sweet and Spicy Glazed Salmon with this easy recipe. Perfectly balanced flavors that will impress your dinner guests!

Ingredients

  • 5 pounds (680 g) fresh salmon fillet
  • 60 ml apple cider vinegar
  • 60 ml vegetable oil
  • 60 ml soy sauce
  • 60 ml water
  • 15 ml lemon juice
  • 5 ml red pepper flakes, or to taste
  • 5 ml onion powder
  • 5 ml garlic powder
  • 10 ml chopped fresh cilantro
  • 80 g brown sugar
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Set the salmon aside in a shallow, flat container.
  2. In a blender, mix together the vinegar, vegetable oil, soy sauce, water, lemon juice, red pepper flakes, onion powder, garlic powder, cilantro, and brown sugar until the sugar dissolves completely.
  3. Evenly pour the mixture over the salmon and ensure it is well-coated.
  4. Cover the container and place it in the refrigerator for no less than 2 hours.
  5. Prepare a broiling pan by lining it with foil.
  6. Take the salmon out of the marinade and put it on the prepared pan; add salt and pepper to your preference.
  7. Pour the leftover marinade into a saucepan.
  8. Set your broiler to a low setting.
  9. Position the salmon about 6 inches away from the heat source and broil for 5 minutes; apply the leftover marinade with a brush.
  10. Continue broiling for another 5 to 10 minutes, brushing 2 or 3 more times with the remaining marinade.
  11. The salmon is ready when it loses its bright red color and can be easily flaked with a fork.
  12. Simultaneously, simmer the leftover marinade on low heat until it thickens and reduces by about one-third, roughly 5 to 10 minutes.
  13. Serve the thickened marinade as a dipping sauce or drizzle it over the salmon just before serving.

Notes

  • Marinate the salmon for a longer period to enhance the flavor.
  • Adjust the red pepper flakes according to your desired level of spiciness.
  • Brush the salmon with the marinade while broiling to keep it moist and flavorful; the reduced marinade can be used as a delicious dipping sauce.
