Description
A simple and flavorful steak and shrimp stir fry with vibrant vegetables, perfect for weeknights or impressing guests.
Ingredients
- 1 pound flank steak (thinly sliced against the grain)
- 1 pound shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 bell pepper (sliced)
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 carrot (julienned)
- 3 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 tablespoon ginger (minced)
- 2 green onions (chopped)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate the Steak and Shrimp: Combine the flank steak and shrimp in a bowl with soy sauce and cornstarch. Stir well, ensuring each piece is coated. Let it sit while you prepare the vegetables.
- Cook the Steak: Heat one tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Once smoking, add the marinated steak. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring continuously until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Cook the Shrimp: In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil if needed. Once heated, add the shrimp. Cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
- Stir Fry the Vegetables: In the same skillet, toss in the bell pepper, broccoli, carrot, garlic, and ginger. Stir fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are vibrant and tender.
- Combine and Serve: Return the cooked steak and shrimp to the skillet with the vegetables. Mix well and season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
Cut the flank steak against the grain for tenderness. Adjust the cooking time of the shrimp to avoid a rubbery texture.
