Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds raw large shrimp (680 g)
- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter (70 g)
- 3 tablespoons minced garlic (about 10 cloves)
- Finely grated zest of 1 medium lemon (1 tablespoon)
- Juice of 1 medium lemon (45 ml)
- 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- Chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish (optional)
- Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Use paper towels to dry 1 1/2 pounds of raw large shrimp.
- In a large 12-inch frying pan, gently heat 5 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium-low flame until melted. Introduce 3 tablespoons of minced garlic and sauté until the aroma is released, about 1 to 2 minutes.
- Incorporate the shrimp, the finely grated zest of 1 medium lemon, the juice from 1 medium lemon, 2 teaspoons of red pepper flakes, 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika, 1/2 teaspoon of kosher salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper. Stir to combine everything and spread the shrimp out evenly.
- Turn the heat up to medium. Continue to cook, stirring now and then, until the shrimp are firm and perfectly cooked, roughly 3 to 5 minutes. Optionally, garnish with chopped fresh cilantro and lemon wedges before serving.
