Ingredients
- 1 pound (454 g) (450 grams) chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) (15 milliliters) vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) (60 milliliters) soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) (30 grams) Korean chili paste
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) (15 grams) Korean chili flakes
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) (15 milliliters) sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) (30 grams) brown sugar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece (2.5 centimeters) ginger, grated
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) (120 milliliters) water
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) (10 grams) cornstarch
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) (10 grams) sesame seeds
Instructions
- Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces.
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, gochujang, gochugaru, sesame oil, brown sugar, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
- Add chicken pieces to the bowl and mix well to coat.
- Marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced onion, red bell pepper, and green bell pepper to the skillet.
- Sauté vegetables until slightly softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove vegetables from the skillet and set aside.
- Add marinated chicken to the skillet.
- Cook chicken until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- Return the sautéed vegetables to the skillet with the chicken.
- In a small bowl, mix water and cornstarch until smooth.
- Pour the cornstarch mixture into the skillet and stir well.
- Simmer the mixture until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in chopped green onions.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds over the dish before serving.
- Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
