Description

Learn how to make flavorful Spicy Gochujang Eggs with this easy recipe. Perfect for a delicious and unique breakfast or brunch option.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons chili paste (30 g)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (15 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil (15 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (15 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (4 g)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  3. Stir in the gochujang, soy sauce, sesame oil, and sugar until combined.
  4. Crack the eggs into the skillet, keeping them separate.
  5. Cook the eggs until the whites are set but the yolks are still runny, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Season the eggs with salt and black pepper to taste.
  7. Sprinkle the chopped green onion over the eggs.
  8. Serve the spicy gochujang eggs over cooked rice.

Notes

  • For a spicier flavor, increase the amount of chili paste or add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • Be cautious not to overcook the eggs to keep the yolk runny for a creamy texture.
  • Adjust the soy sauce quantity based on your desired level of saltiness.
