Ingredients
- 200g (0.5 lb) large or jumbo shrimp
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
- 1 tsp paprika powder (sweet or smoked)
- 1 tsp red chili flakes
- 1 tbsp butter (cold; salted or unsalted)
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley or cilantro
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Season the shrimp with salt, black pepper, paprika, and red chili flakes.
- Place the shrimp in the skillet, cooking for about 2-3 minutes on each side until bright pink and curled.
- Reduce heat to low and add cold butter and lemon juice, stirring until the butter melts and coats the shrimp.
- Sprinkle chopped parsley or cilantro over the shrimp and serve immediately.
Notes
When selecting shrimp, choose fresh ones free of off-putting odors. Adjust red chili flakes for desired heat level.
