Description
A vibrant shrimp dish featuring the delightful heat of red chili flakes and rich butter, perfect for weeknight meals or entertaining.
Ingredients
- 200g (0.5 lb) large or jumbo shrimp
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
- 1 tsp paprika powder (sweet or smoked)
- 1 tsp red chili flakes
- 1 tbsp cold butter (salted or unsalted)
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp parsley or cilantro
Instructions
- Heat three tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Once the oil shimmers, add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, stirring frequently.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet. Sprinkle with salt, black pepper, paprika, and red chili flakes. Stir well to evenly coat the shrimp.
- Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side, until they turn pink and opaque.
- Once cooked, reduce the heat to low, and add the cold butter and lemon juice. Stir until the butter melts and creates a sauce.
- Remove from heat and toss in the parsley or cilantro before serving.
Notes
For enhanced flavor, consider marinating the shrimp before cooking. Serve over rice or pasta to catch the buttery sauce.
