Ingredients
- 1 lb. raw shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Lemon wedges for serving
- Cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, Ranch dressing, or other condiments as desired
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or skillet until it reaches 375°F.
- In a large bowl, combine shrimp with milk, dried oregano, paprika, garlic powder, and salt. Mix well and let sit for 10-15 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix all-purpose flour, oregano, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and ground black pepper.
- Remove shrimp from the milk mixture, drain excess, and dredge in the flour mixture.
- Carefully place shrimp into the hot oil and fry for 3-5 minutes until golden brown, turning as necessary.
- Remove shrimp and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with lemon wedges and your choice of dipping sauces.
Notes
Use a thermometer to check the oil’s temperature accurately. Fry in small batches to maintain the oil temperature and achieve a consistent crunch.
