Ingredients
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 350°F (175°C).
- Dredge each shrimp in the cornmeal mixture, ensuring they are fully coated.
- Carefully place the coated shrimp in the hot oil, frying in batches if necessary.
- Fry the shrimp until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove the shrimp from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
