Ingredients
- 3.75 oz. canned smoked oysters, drained
- 8 oz. cream cheese, softened to room temperature
- Zest of 1 medium lemon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill (or 1 teaspoon dried dill, optional)
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon ground chipotle (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
- Fresh cracked black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons capers (optional)
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients except the capers in a mixing bowl: smoked oysters, cream cheese, lemon zest, lemon juice, dill, smoked paprika, and optional spices like chipotle, cayenne, and salt.
- Smash and stir the oysters into the cream cheese using the back of a spoon until smoothly combined.
- Stir in the capers gently until evenly distributed.
- Transfer the dip to a serving dish and chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
Notes
Letting the dip chill for at least an hour post-preparation enhances the flavors. Adjust seasoning and acidity to your liking as you taste.
