Description

A rich and creamy smoked oyster dip blended with lemon zest and spices, perfect for gatherings or as a delightful snack.

Ingredients

  • 3.75 oz. canned smoked oysters, drained
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • Zest of 1 medium lemon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill (or 1 teaspoon dried dill, optional)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground chipotle (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
  • Fresh cracked black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons capers (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients except the capers in a mixing bowl: smoked oysters, cream cheese, lemon zest, lemon juice, dill, smoked paprika, and optional spices like chipotle, cayenne, and salt.
  2. Smash and stir the oysters into the cream cheese using the back of a spoon until smoothly combined.
  3. Stir in the capers gently until evenly distributed.
  4. Transfer the dip to a serving dish and chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Notes

Letting the dip chill for at least an hour post-preparation enhances the flavors. Adjust seasoning and acidity to your liking as you taste.
