Ingredients

  • Large onions
  • Shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • Smoked turkey bacon
  • Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • Cream cheese
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Paprika
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Olive oil
  • Parsley, chopped (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel the onions and cut them in half horizontally.
  3. Carefully remove the inner layers of each onion half, leaving two outer layers to form a shell.
  4. Chop the removed inner onion layers finely.
  5. In a bowl, mix chopped onions, shrimp, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  6. Fill each onion shell generously with the shrimp mixture.
  7. Wrap each stuffed onion with smoked turkey bacon and secure with toothpicks.
  8. Brush the outside of the wrapped onions with olive oil.
  9. Place the onion bombs in a baking dish.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, until onions are tender and bacon is crispy.
  11. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.
  12. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
