Ingredients
- 1 pound (454 g) shrimp, peeled and deveined (450 grams)
- 1 cup (240 ml) all-purpose flour (120 grams)
- 1 cup (240 ml) cornmeal (150 grams)
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Cajun seasoning (15 grams)
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) garlic powder (5 grams)
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) onion powder (5 grams)
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) paprika (5 grams)
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) salt (2.5 grams)
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) black pepper (1 gram)
- 1 cup (240 ml) buttermilk (240 milliliters)
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 12 slider buns
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) mayonnaise (120 milliliters)
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) hot sauce (15 milliliters)
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) lemon juice (15 milliliters)
- 2 cups (480 ml) shredded lettuce (90 grams)
- 1 large tomato, sliced
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Pour buttermilk into a separate bowl.
- Dip each shrimp into the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off.
- Coat each shrimp in the flour and cornmeal mixture, pressing lightly.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Fry shrimp in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove shrimp from oil and drain on paper towels.
- In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, hot sauce, and lemon juice.
- Split slider buns and spread mayonnaise mixture on each half.
- Place a layer of shredded lettuce on the bottom half of each bun.
- Add a slice of tomato on top of the lettuce.
- Place 2-3 fried shrimp on top of the tomato slice.
- Cover with the top half of the bun.

- Marinate shrimp in Cajun seasoning and buttermilk for 30 minutes before breading and frying for enhanced flavor.
