Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of French bread
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (15 ml)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined (450 g)
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder (2 g)
  • 1 teaspoon cumin (2 g)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (113 g)
  • 1 cup shredded moz zarella cheese (113 g)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (120 ml)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (15 g)
  • 1 jalapeño, diced
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the French bread in half lengthwise.
  3. Scoop out some of the bread from the center to create a slight hollow.
  4. Place the bread halves on a baking sheet.
  5. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  6. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  7. Add shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink, about 3-4 minutes.
  8. Stir in chili powder and cumin, mixing well with the shrimp.
  9. Remove the skillet from heat.
  10. Evenly distribute the cooked shrimp over the hollowed bread halves.
  11. Sprinkle shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese evenly over the shrimp.
  12. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven.
  13. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  14. Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool slightly.
  15. Drizzle sour cream over the top of the melted cheese.
  16. Sprinkle chopped cilantro and diced jalapeño over the sour cream.
  17. Slice the bread into swirls or pieces of your desired size.
  18. Serve with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the top.
