Ingredients
- 1 pound (454 g) shrimp, peeled and deveined (450 grams)
- 2 flatbreads or naan
- 1 cup (240 ml) shredded mozzarella cheese (100 grams)
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) grated plant-based Parmesan cheese (25 grams)
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) marinara or pizza sauce (120 milliliters)
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) vegetable oil (15 milliliters)
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) garlic powder (5 grams)
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) dried Italian seasoning (5 grams)
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) red pepper flakes (optional) (1 gram)
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) chopped fresh basil (10 grams)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Place the shrimp in a bowl and add olive oil, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Toss the shrimp to coat evenly with the mixture.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- Place the flatbreads on a baking sheet.
- Spread an equal amount of marinara or pizza sauce over each flatbread.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce on each flatbread.
- Distribute the cooked shrimp evenly over the cheese.
- Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the shrimp.
- If using, add red pepper flakes on top for spice.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
