Description

A comforting and luxurious pasta dish featuring shrimp and crab in a creamy Cajun sauce, perfect for family gatherings or romantic dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp (cleaned and deveined)
  • 8 ounces linguine
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 cup half-and-half
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • Chopped parsley (for garnish)
  • 1 Roma tomato (finely diced)
  • ¼ cup Parmigiano Reggiano cheese
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the shrimp with salt, pepper, and ½ teaspoon of Cajun seasoning, and let sit while cooking linguine.
  2. In a large pan over medium heat, melt butter with oil.
  3. Add shrimp in a single layer and minced garlic. Cook for 2 minutes until shrimp turns pink, then flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  4. Pour in the half-and-half and add Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. Whisk continuously for about 2 minutes until mixture reaches a gentle boil.
  5. Turn off heat and add cooked linguine, diced tomato, parsley, and remaining Cajun seasoning. Optionally squeeze in lemon juice.
  6. Mix well while sauce thickens. Adjust consistency with additional half-and-half if needed. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a richer flavor, allow the dish to rest for a few minutes before serving. Pair with a crisp side salad or garlic bread.
