Description
A creamy, luxurious Shrimp and Crab Alfredo with plump shrimp and rich crab meat tossed in a velvety sauce over fettuccine.
Ingredients
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ cup grated Romano cheese (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup crab meat (fresh or canned, drained)
- 8 oz fettuccine or pasta of choice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Bring water to a boil, then add the fettuccine or your pasta choice. Cook according to package instructions, then drain and set aside, reserving ½ cup of pasta water.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink. Remove and set aside.
- Add crab meat to the same skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes. Remove and set aside with shrimp.
- Melt butter in the skillet and add the minced garlic, cooking for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in Parmesan and Romano cheese, allowing them to melt into the sauce. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning to taste.
- If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water gradually until desired consistency is reached.
- Combine cooked pasta with the Alfredo sauce in the skillet, ensuring it is thoroughly coated. Gently stir in shrimp and crab meat, cooking for 1-2 minutes until heated through.
- Plate the dish and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve immediately.
Notes
Use high-quality, freshly grated cheese for the best results. A twist of lemon can enhance flavors.
