Description

A creamy and dreamy shrimp casserole that combines the ocean’s treasures with comfort food, perfect for family dinners and gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup cooked white rice
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the shrimp and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Cook until the shrimp turns pink, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  2. Fold in the cooked rice and shredded cheddar cheese into the shrimp mixture. Stir until smooth and well-coated.
  3. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and transfer the shrimp and rice mixture into the dish, spreading it out evenly.
  4. Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbling.
  5. Slice and serve hot, accompanied by your favorite side dishes, such as a crisp green salad or steamed vegetables.

Notes

For best results, use fresh shrimp rather than frozen and adjust cooking times based on your oven’s characteristics.
