Description

A classic shrimp boil featuring tender shrimp, andouille sausage, corn, and potatoes, seasoned with Old Bay for an authentic taste.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, deveined
  • 2 ears of corn, cut into thirds
  • 1 pound small potatoes, halved
  • 1/2 pound andouille sausage, cut into chunks
  • 4 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 lemons, halved
  • Water
  • Salt

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, fill with enough water to cover the shrimp and vegetables, then add salt and Old Bay seasoning. Bring to a boil.
  2. Add the potatoes and cook for about 10 minutes until they begin to soften.
  3. Add the corn and sausage; cook for another 5 minutes.
  4. Finally, add the shrimp and garlic, and cook until the shrimp turn pink, about 3-5 minutes.
  5. Squeeze in lemon juice and toss everything together.
  6. Drain the pot and serve the shrimp boil on a large platter with additional lemon wedges.

Notes

Monitor the shrimp closely to avoid overcooking. Experiment with lemon juice and red pepper flakes for added flavor.
