Description
A festive and flavorful shrimp boil that brings coastal traditions and family gatherings to life with succulent shrimp, spicy sausage, and vibrant vegetables.
Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 lb andouille sausage, sliced
- 1 lb baby potatoes
- 4 ears of corn, halved
- 1 onion, quartered
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup Old Bay seasoning
- Salt, to taste
- Water
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add salt and Old Bay seasoning.
- Add baby potatoes and cook for 10 minutes.
- Stir in andouille sausage and corn, cooking for another 5-7 minutes.
- Add shrimp last, cooking until they turn pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes.
- Drain the mixture and let it sit for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve the shrimp boil on a large platter or newspaper with lemon wedges and dipping sauces.
Notes
Serve with bowls of melted butter or cocktail sauce for dipping. Variations can include other seafood like crab or mussels. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge and used for seafood pasta or chowder.
