Ingredients

  • 1 pound (454 g) shrimp, peeled and deveined (450 grams)
  • 1 pound (454 g) beef steak (450 grams)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) vegetable oil (15 milliliters)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) lemon juice (15 milliliters)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) chili powder (2 grams)
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) cumin (2 grams)
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) paprika (2 grams)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1 cup (240 ml) shredded lettuce (60 grams)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) diced tomatoes (150 grams)
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) chopped fresh cilantro (15 grams)
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) yogurt (60 milliliters)
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges


Instructions

  1. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, combine shrimp with 1/2 tablespoon olive oil, 1/2 tablespoon lime juice, 1 minced garlic clove, 1/2 teaspoon chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon cumin, and 1/2 teaspoon paprika.
  3. Season shrimp with salt and black pepper to taste.
  4. In another bowl, combine flank steak with 1/2 tablespoon olive oil, 1/2 tablespoon lime juice, 1 minced garlic clove, 1/2 teaspoon chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon cumin, and 1/2 teaspoon paprika.
  5. Season steak with salt and black pepper to taste.
  6. Grill shrimp on preheated grill for 2-3 minutes per side, until opaque and cooked through.
  7. Remove shrimp from grill and set aside.
  8. Grill flank steak for 5-7 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.
  9. Remove steak from grill and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
  10. Warm corn tortillas on the grill for about 30 seconds per side.
  11. Assemble tacos by placing sliced steak and grilled shrimp on each tortilla.
  12. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and avocado slices.
  13. Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro.
  14. Drizzle with sour cream and squeeze lime wedges over the top.
  15. Serve immediately.
