Ingredients
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup grits
- 4 cups water or chicken broth
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Green onions, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- In a pot, bring water or chicken broth to a boil. Add grits and reduce heat to low. Stir occasionally until thickened, about 20-25 minutes.
- Once the grits are cooked, stir in butter and cheddar cheese until melted and creamy. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and shrimp, cooking until shrimp are pink and cooked through, about 3-5 minutes.
- Stir in paprika and season with salt and pepper.
- Serve shrimp over a bed of cheesy grits and garnish with chopped green onions.
