Ingredients

  • 12 oz (340 g) spaghetti
  • 8 oz (225 g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 oz (225 g) imitation crab meat
  • 3 tablespoons (45 ml) olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) red pepper flakes
  • 1 lemon, juiced and zested
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (15 g)
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped (15 g)
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Add spaghetti to the boiling water and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
  3. Drain the spaghetti and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  4. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  5. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet and sauté for 1 minute.
  6. Add shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.
  7. Stir in crab meat and cook for an additional 2 minutes until heated through.
  8. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss to combine.
  9. Pour in the reserved pasta water, lemon juice, and lemon zest.
  10. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  11. Add chopped parsley and basil to the skillet and toss well.
  12. Remove from heat and serve immediately.
