Ingredients

  • 4 slices cheese, such as Swiss or cheddar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup (240 ml) (240 milliliters) milk
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) paprika
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) (30 grams) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoon (30 ml) s (30 grams) butter
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) (15 milliliters) vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) (15 grams) mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) (15 grams) mustard


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix mayonnaise and mustard until combined.
  3. Spread the mayonnaise-mustard mixture on one side of each bread slice.
  4. Layer shrimp and crab meat evenly on four slices of the bread.
  5. Place a slice of cheese on top of the shrimp and crab layer.
  6. Top with the remaining bread slices, sauce side down, to form sandwiches.
  7. In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  8. Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, ensuring all sides are coated.
  9. Lightly coat each sandwich with flour, shaking off any excess.
  10. In a large skillet, heat butter and vegetable oil over medium heat.
  11. Add sandwiches to the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
