Ingredients
- 1 pound (454 g) shrimp, peeled and deveined (450 grams)
- 8 ounce (227 g) s lump crab meat (225 grams)
- 8 ounce (227 g) s elb ow macaroni (225 grams)
- 1 cup (240 ml) shredded cheddar cheese (4 ounce (113 g) s or 113 grams)
- 1 cup (240 ml) shredded moz zarella cheese (4 ounce (113 g) s or 113 grams)
- 1 cup (240 ml) milk (240 milliliters)
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) heavy cream (120 milliliters)
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) unsalted butter (1/2 stick or 57 grams)
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) all-purpose flour (30 grams)
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) breadcrumbs (60 grams)
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) grated Parmesan cheese (25 grams)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) onion powder
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) cayenne pepper
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoon (30 ml) s olive oil (30 milliliters)
- 2 tablespoon (30 ml) s chopped fresh parsley (8 grams)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add shrimp to the pan and season with salt, black pepper, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper.
- Cook shrimp until pink and fully cooked, about 3-4 minutes; remove from heat.
- In a saucepan, melt unsalted butter over medium heat.
- Stir in the all-purpose flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until a paste forms.
- Gradually whisk in milk and heavy cream, stirring constantly until mixture thickens.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in cheddar and mozzarella cheese until melted and smooth.
- Season cheese sauce with salt and black pepper to taste.
- In a large bowl, combine cooked macaroni, shrimp, crab meat, and cheese sauce; mix well.
- Lightly grease a muffin tin or baking dish with olive oil or butter.
- Spoon the macaroni mixture into the prepared muffin tin or baking dish.
- In a small bowl, combine breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, and chopped parsley.
- Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the top of the macaroni.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and crispy.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.
