Description

Discover how to make a delicious Shrimp and Broccoli Stir-fry at home with our easy-to-follow recipe. Perfect for a quick and flavorful meal!

Ingredients

  • – 3 tablespoons (45 ml) soy sauce
  • – 1 tablespoon (15 ml) rice vinegar
  • – 1 tablespoon (15 ml) brown sugar
  • – 1 tablespoon (15 ml) toasted sesame oil
  • – 2 teaspoons (10 ml) Sriracha
  • – 2 teaspoons (10 ml) cornstarch
  • – 4 large garlic cloves, grated
  • – 1 knob ginger, freshly grated
  • – 1 lime, juiced
  • – 1 pound (450 g) medium beef, peeled and deveined
  • – 1 large head broccoli, cut florets
  • – 1 bunch scallions, thinly sliced
  • – 2 tablespoons (30 ml) vegetable oil, divided
  • – Salt and pepper to taste
  • – Brown rice for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, sesame oil, Sriracha, cornstarch, garlic, ginger, and lime juice by mixing them thoroughly.
  2. Dry the beef with a paper towel, then season with salt and pepper. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan over high heat. Add broccoli and scallions (reserving some for garnish), cooking them until they are slightly charred, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium-high, pour in the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil, and add the beef. Stir occasionally until the beef is cooked and no longer pink, around 3-4 minutes.
  4. Introduce the soy sauce mixture, stirring it with the beef, broccoli, and scallions. Cook until the sauce thickens slightly, approximately 2 minutes.
  5. Take the pan off the heat and sprinkle with the reserved scallions. Serve immediately over brown rice.

Notes

  • Adjust the Sriracha to your desired level of spiciness.
  • Thinly slice the beef for even and quick cooking.
  • Experiment with colorful veggies like bell peppers or snap peas for added nutrition.
