Ingredients
- 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 tablespoons melted butter, ghee, olive oil, or avocado oil
- 4 (6 ounce) skin-on salmon filets
- 3 tablespoons melted butter, ghee, or avocado oil
- Juice from 1/2 a lemon
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a small bowl, mix together smoked paprika, ground cumin, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper.
- Rub the spice mixture over each salmon filet.
- In a large oven-safe skillet, heat your choice of oil and sear the salmon filets skin-side down for about 3-4 minutes until the skin turns crispy.
- Flip the filets and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes on the other side.
- Pour the melted butter over the salmon filets and transfer the skillet to the oven.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- In a separate bowl, mix together additional melted butter, lemon juice, and chopped parsley to create the topping.
- Serve the salmon hot, topped with the lemon butter sauce.
