Description

Delicious jumbo pasta shells filled with a creamy mixture of shrimp, crab, and cheese, baked to perfection.

Ingredients

  • 20 jumbo pasta shells
  • 1 cup cooked shrimp, chopped
  • 1 cup lump crab meat (or imitation crab)
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups milk
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Boil the jumbo shells in salted water for 10-12 minutes until al dente, then drain and set aside to cool.
  3. Mix together the shrimp, crab meat, ricotta, mozzarella, parmesan, egg, parsley, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until creamy.
  4. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat, then stir in flour and cook for one minute.
  5. Gradually whisk in milk until thickened, then add parmesan, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  6. Spread a thin layer of sauce in a greased baking dish.
  7. Stuff each shell with the seafood mixture and place them in the dish.
  8. Pour the remaining sauce over the shells and sprinkle extra cheese on top.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then uncover and bake for another 10 minutes until golden and bubbly.

Notes

For added flavor, consider substituting fresh herbs in the filling or sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
