Description
A festive seafood boil filled with shrimp, crabs, clams, and vegetables, perfect for gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 lb shrimp
- 1 lb crabs
- 1 lb clams
- 1 lb mussels
- 4 ears of corn, cut in half
- 1 lb red potatoes
- 1 lb andouille sausage, sliced
- 1/4 cup Old Bay seasoning
- 4 cloves garlic, smashed
- 1 lemon, sliced
- Water, as needed
Instructions
- Fill a large stockpot with water and bring it to a rolling boil.
- Add red potatoes and cook for 15-20 minutes until tender.
- Add corn and sausage to the pot, cooking for an additional 5-7 minutes.
- Introduce shellfish (shrimp, crabs, clams, mussels) and cook for 3-5 minutes until they are opaque and firm.
- Once done, strain the seafood and vegetables, reserving the broth for serving.
- Serve on a newspaper-covered table with lemon wedges and fresh herbs.
Notes
For added flavor, consider brining shrimp and experimenting with different herbs such as bay leaves and thyme.
