Description

A festive seafood boil filled with shrimp, crabs, clams, and vegetables, perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp
  • 1 lb crabs
  • 1 lb clams
  • 1 lb mussels
  • 4 ears of corn, cut in half
  • 1 lb red potatoes
  • 1 lb andouille sausage, sliced
  • 1/4 cup Old Bay seasoning
  • 4 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • Water, as needed

Instructions

  1. Fill a large stockpot with water and bring it to a rolling boil.
  2. Add red potatoes and cook for 15-20 minutes until tender.
  3. Add corn and sausage to the pot, cooking for an additional 5-7 minutes.
  4. Introduce shellfish (shrimp, crabs, clams, mussels) and cook for 3-5 minutes until they are opaque and firm.
  5. Once done, strain the seafood and vegetables, reserving the broth for serving.
  6. Serve on a newspaper-covered table with lemon wedges and fresh herbs.

Notes

For added flavor, consider brining shrimp and experimenting with different herbs such as bay leaves and thyme.
