  • 6 oz (170 g) shrimp
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) olive oil
  • 1 large red pepper roughly chopped
  • 1 medium onion roughly chopped
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) garlic minced
  • 8 oz (227 g) tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Old Bay
  • 2 cup (480 ml) s cream
  • 1/3 cup (80 ml) Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) chives chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste


Instructions

  1. Carefully inspect the crab meat to ensure it is free of shells. Detach the tails and legs from the shrimp, and remove the veins.
  2. Warm the olive oil in a medium-sized saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the chopped red pepper and onion, cooking for 5-7 minutes until they become tender. Introduce the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.
  3. Incorporate the tomato sauce, hot sauce, Old Bay seasoning, and cream. Stir until everything is well combined, then add the crab and shrimp. Bring the mixture to a boil before lowering the heat to let it simmer.
  4. Move the bisque to a food processor or a high-speed blender and blend until it reaches a smooth consistency.
  5. Serve in a bowl, topping with grated Parmesan cheese. Add chives as a garnish and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper to your liking.
