A creamy and zesty sauce that transforms fish tacos into a flavorful experience with a hint of spice.
Ingredients
- ½ cup sour cream (or mayonnaise)
- ½ cup plain Greek yogurt
- ¼ cup packed fresh cilantro (optional)
- 1 teaspoon minced fresh garlic or garlic paste
- 1–2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce (start with ½ for mild, add more for heat)
- Juice of 1 lime
- ⅛ teaspoon kosher salt
- Optional:
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Begin by adding all ingredients into a bowl.
- Use the immersion blender, food processor, or regular blender to puree until smooth.
- Once blended, taste the mixture, adjusting seasoning or heat as necessary.
- If you prefer a little more spice, add an extra chipotle pepper.
- After perfecting the flavor, chill the sauce for at least 30 minutes.
- Finally, stir well and drizzle generously over tacos.
