Description

A crispy and flavorful fried squid dish paired with zesty garlic mayo, perfect for seafood lovers.

Ingredients

  • 500 g Squid
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1 cup Cornstarch
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • Oil for frying
  • ½ cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 Garlic cloves, minced
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Defrost the squid overnight in the fridge if frozen. Drain off any excess liquid and pat dry.
  2. Cut the whole squid into thick rings using a sharp knife.
  3. Mix flour, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl.
  4. Add the squid to the flour mixture and dredge, ensuring each piece is covered.
  5. Heat oil in a large pot or Dutch Oven over medium-high heat.
  6. Once the oil is hot, shake off excess flour and add squid in batches.
  7. Cook until golden brown and crispy, about 1-2 minutes.
  8. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels before serving.
  9. Serve with garlic mayo and lemon wedges.

Notes

Prepare the garlic mayo ahead of time for better flavor. Uniform cutting of squid rings ensures even cooking.
