Description

A cozy and shareable dish that brings the flavors of sushi into a warm, baked setting.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1 lb fresh salmon, cooked and flaked
  • 1 cup imitation crab, chopped
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup spicy mayo
  • 1/4 cup green onions, sliced
  • 1 sheet nori (seaweed), cut into strips
  • Soy sauce for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Combine it with water in a pot and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 18-20 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the cooked salmon, imitation crab, cream cheese, and spicy mayo until well combined.
  4. Spread the cooked rice evenly in a baking dish.
  5. Layer the salmon mixture over the rice.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until heated through.
  7. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve with nori strips and soy sauce.

Notes

For added flavor, consider topping with extra green onions or a drizzle of spicy mayo. Allow the bake to rest briefly before serving for easier slicing.
