Description

A comforting and unique twist on traditional sushi, this salmon sushi bake combines rich flavors of salmon, imitation crab, and creamy goodness.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1 lb salmon fillet, cooked and flaked
  • 8 oz imitation crab, chopped
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Sriracha (or to taste)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 sheet nori (seaweed), cut into strips
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Rinse sushi rice under cold water until water runs clear. Combine rice and water in a rice cooker and cook according to rice cooker instructions.
  3. In a bowl, mix cooked rice with soy sauce and spread it evenly in the bottom of a greased baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flaked salmon, imitation crab, mayonnaise, Sriracha, and green onions. Spread this mixture over the rice.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of softened cream cheese over the top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until heated through and bubbly.
  7. Garnish with nori strips and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the salmon in soy sauce or citrus juice before cooking. You can also customize spice levels and add vegetables for freshness.
