Description

Delicious salmon patties served with a homemade tartar sauce, perfect for picnics or family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 can (14.75 oz) salmon, drained and flaked
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup celery, finely chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp pickle relish
  • 1 tsp capers, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the salmon, breadcrumbs, onion, celery, egg, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well until combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into patties, forming them to your desired thickness.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat until hot.
  4. Fry the salmon patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
  5. For the tartar sauce, mix together mayonnaise, lemon juice, pickle relish, capers, and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Serve the salmon patties warm with a generous dollop of homemade tartar sauce.

Experiment with different seasonings or add herbs like dill or parsley for extra flavor.
