Description

A simple yet flavorful dish featuring tender white fish fillets seasoned with zesty lemon and aromatic black pepper.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs of white fish fillets (cod, tilapia, haddock, or snapper)
  • 2 medium-sized fresh lemons (zest and juice)
  • 2 tablespoons of freshly cracked black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter (or olive oil for a dairy-free option)
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon of dried parsley (or 2 tablespoons of fresh parsley, chopped)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Ensure the fish fillets are fully thawed and pat dry with paper towels.
  2. Wash and zest the lemons, then juice them, aiming for 1/4 to 1/3 cup of juice.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the cracked black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried parsley.
  4. Season both sides of the fish fillets with the lemon pepper mixture and sprinkle lemon zest, pressing gently to adhere.
  5. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter or heat olive oil until shimmering.
  6. Place the seasoned fish fillets in the skillet and pour the lemon juice evenly over them.
  7. Cook the fish for 3-5 minutes on each side until it flakes easily with a fork.
  8. Remove the fillets from the skillet and serve immediately with optional parsley or lemon wedges.

Notes

Use sustainable fish options when available, and customize seasoning to suit your taste. Pair with sides for a complete meal.
