Description
Delicious walleye fillets baked with a crispy Parmesan crust for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb walleye (2 fillets)
- 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup Parmesan, finely grated
- 1 egg
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1 lemon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking tray with foil, spraying it with non-stick cooking oil or butter.
- In a shallow bowl, crack and whisk the egg until well blended.
- In a separate bowl, combine grated Parmesan, panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper, and stir to mix.
- Pat the walleye fillets dry, dip one fillet into the egg, and then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Place the coated fillet on the prepared baking sheet and repeat for the second fillet.
- Sprinkle any remaining breadcrumb mixture over the fillets.
- Bake in the oven for 15 minutes, until fish is white and flaky inside, and golden brown on the outside.
- Drizzle fresh lemon juice over the fish before serving.
Notes
For an extra crunchy texture, consider broiling the fish for the last few minutes of cooking.
