Description

A comforting and flavorful dish that combines tender shrimp with creamy rice, enhanced by the richness of Parmesan cheese and the freshness of basil.


Ingredients

  • 1½ cups dry white rice
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 pound shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • ½ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • ¼ cup milk or heavy cream


Instructions

  1. Prepare rice according to package directions. Set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  3. Add garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Add shrimp and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until heated through and pink.
  5. Stir in rice and mix well.
  6. Add Parmesan cheese, basil, salt, pepper, and milk to shrimp.
  7. Stir until rice thickens and becomes creamy.
  8. Remove from heat and garnish with additional basil if desired.
  9. Serve immediately.

Notes

Using fresh garlic enhances flavor. Consider adding red pepper flakes for a mild heat. Allow the dish to rest before serving to meld flavors.
