Description

Discover how to perfectly pan sear red snapper with our easy-to-follow recipe. Learn the secrets to achieving crispy skin and moist, flavorful fish in every bite!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) chopped green onions
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) honey
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) ground ginger
  • 2 (113 g) red snapper fillets

Instructions

  1. Collect all the necessary items.
  2. In a shallow dish, combine the green onions, lemon juice, rice vinegar, olive oil, honey, Dijon mustard, and ground ginger; set this mixture aside.
  3. Rinse the red snapper fillets under cold water and dry them thoroughly using paper towels.
  4. Place a large nonstick frying pan over medium heat. Submerge the snapper in the marinade, ensuring both sides are evenly covered.
  5. In the heated pan, cook the snapper until it becomes opaque and lightly golden, which should take about 2 to 3 minutes on each side.
  6. Add the remaining marinade to the pan. Lower the heat and continue cooking until the fish easily flakes with a fork, roughly another 2 to 3 minutes.

Notes

  • Marinate the red snapper fillets for a minimum of 30 minutes to enhance flavor.
  • Ensure fillets are thoroughly dried before cooking for a crispy outer texture.
  • Adjust cooking time based on fillet thickness to avoid overcooking.
