Description

A delightful and flavorful oven-baked whole yellowtail snapper that is perfect for family gatherings and special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 2 large whole yellowtail snapper fish
  • 4 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 3 Tbsp. squeezed lemon juice
  • Sea salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 Tbsp. minced garlic
  • Lemon slices
  • Dry parsley
  • Fresh parsley or your favorite herb

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  2. Rinse and pat dry the yellowtail snapper.
  3. Make three or more slits on both sides of the fish.
  4. Combine melted butter, sea salt, pepper, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and squeezed lemon juice in a bowl. Adjust the seasoning to taste.
  5. Place the fish on a lightly oiled foil-lined baking sheet.
  6. Brush the seasoning mix on both sides of the fish, inside the cavity, and inside the slits.
  7. Insert fresh minced garlic, sliced onion, and lemon slices inside the fish cavity.
  8. Dust the exterior of the fish with paprika, salt, and dry parsley.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley or your favorite herbs before serving.

Notes

For crispy skin, broil the fish for a few minutes at the end of the cooking time. Vary the herbs and spices to suit your taste.
