Description
A delightful and flavorful oven-baked whole yellowtail snapper that is perfect for family gatherings and special occasions.
Ingredients
- 2 large whole yellowtail snapper fish
- 4 Tbsp. melted butter
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp. paprika
- 3 Tbsp. squeezed lemon juice
- Sea salt and pepper to taste
- 2 Tbsp. minced garlic
- Lemon slices
- Dry parsley
- Fresh parsley or your favorite herb
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F.
- Rinse and pat dry the yellowtail snapper.
- Make three or more slits on both sides of the fish.
- Combine melted butter, sea salt, pepper, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and squeezed lemon juice in a bowl. Adjust the seasoning to taste.
- Place the fish on a lightly oiled foil-lined baking sheet.
- Brush the seasoning mix on both sides of the fish, inside the cavity, and inside the slits.
- Insert fresh minced garlic, sliced onion, and lemon slices inside the fish cavity.
- Dust the exterior of the fish with paprika, salt, and dry parsley.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- Garnish with fresh parsley or your favorite herbs before serving.
Notes
For crispy skin, broil the fish for a few minutes at the end of the cooking time. Vary the herbs and spices to suit your taste.
