- 1 pound (454 g) shrimp, peeled and deveined (450 grams)
- 1 orange, zest and juice
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) honey (30 milliliters)
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) soy sauce (30 milliliters)
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) cornstarch (8 grams)
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) water (15 milliliters)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) ginger, minced (15 grams)
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) vegetable oil (30 milliliters)
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) salt
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) black pepper
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) green onions, chopped (15 grams)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine orange zest, orange juice, honey, and soy sauce. Mix well.
- In a separate small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth.
- Add cornstarch mixture to the orange sauce and stir until combined.
- Season shrimp with salt and black pepper.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add minced garlic and minced ginger to the skillet. Sauté for 1 minute.
- Add shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
- Pour the orange sauce over the shrimp in the skillet.
- Add red pepper flakes, if using, and stir to combine.
- Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the shrimp.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped green onions.
- Serve immediately.
